Bio
For Abby, Willamette University isn’t just a place—it’s a legacy, a community, and a meaningful part of her family story. Her connection began with her grandmother, a proud member of the Class of 1936, and continued through her cousin, Class of 1991. That legacy became her own when she enrolled at Willamette, earning a degree in International Studies in 2005. Today, she serves as Senior Associate Director for Alumni & Community Engagement.
Guided by Willamette’s motto, “Not unto ourselves alone are we born,” Abby believes in the importance of giving back—not only to Willamette but to our wider communities. Her passion for service is grounded in a long-standing commitment to building relationships and strengthening communities. She joined the Willamette University Alumni Board of Directors in 2015, eventually chairing both the Admission and Career Committees. That experience, along with her broader volunteer work, shaped her decision to return to campus professionally in 2018. Her promotion to Senior Associate Director in 2023 reflects her continued dedication to supporting alumni and fostering a strong, engaged Willamette network.
In her current role, she manages the Alumni Board of Directors and works closely with campus partners to create meaningful opportunities for alumni to stay involved and make a difference in the lives of students and fellow graduates.
Outside of work, Abby brings the same sense of connection to her personal life. She sings with the Willamette Master Chorus, spends time with her family, and enjoys exploring the Willamette Valley. Her journey is a reflection of the lasting impact of a Willamette education and the value of investing in the communities that shape us.
