Bio
For Abby, Willamette University isn’t just a place—it’s a legacy, a community, and a meaningful part of her family story. Her connection began with her grandmother, a proud member of the Class of 1936, and continued through her cousin, a member of the Class of 1991. That legacy became her own when she enrolled at Willamette, earning a degree in International Studies in 2005. Today, she serves as Director of Alumni & Community Engagement.
Guided by Willamette’s motto, “Not unto ourselves alone are we born,” Abby believes in the importance of giving back—not only to Willamette but to our wider communities. Her passion for service is rooted in a long-standing commitment to building relationships and fostering community growth. She joined the Willamette University Alumni Board of Directors in 2015 and eventually chaired both the Admission and Career Committees. That experience, along with her broader volunteer work, shaped her decision to return to campus professionally in 2018. Her promotion to Director in 2025 reflects her continued dedication to supporting alumni and friends, fostering a strong and engaged Willamette network.
Outside of work, Abby brings the same sense of connection to her personal life. She sings with the Willamette Master Chorus, spends time with her family, and enjoys exploring the Willamette Valley. Her journey is a reflection of the lasting impact of a Willamette education and the value of investing in the communities that shape us.
